This week I’m looking forward to creating a new website. After so many years doing the online business, we do have a few website now. But recently we’re looking for expansion on another industry so seem like having another website is ideal.

So, before looking for a website, we will try to brainstorm some website’s name by list out a bunch of them, at least ten names cross our mind.

And from the list of website names, we will cross reference with the name on GoDaddy website to get a preferable domain name. Godaddy will show if the name is taken or if not, it will show the price at that time.

We prefer GoDaddy because sometimes we will get a unique code and it’s cheaper at times. If you maintain the domain name for more than a year, normally it will be cheaper. So, you want to get a package of 2 years at least.

Once you bought the domain name, you need a hosting company. There are a lot of companies offering hosting services like HostGator, GoDaddy, exabytes, Bluehost and much more. You want to shop around and choose one that suitable for you.

For us, we prefer Hostgator. Maybe because of we quite familiar with the setup and structure for many years, also it was not too expensive.

The first thing you need to do when shopping for a web host is to evaluate your disk space and bandwidth needs. If your site will feature a lot of graphics, dozens of pages and get a lot of traffic, you’re going to need decent amounts of bandwidth and disk space. Unlimited plans are available, and they make life easier. If your site is going to be simple and not generate a huge amount of traffic, you should be able to get away with smaller amounts of disk space and bandwidth.

Once we get massive traffic to the website, and everything collapsed. We used so much space that it’s jamming the system. However, we managed to negotiate for bigger disk space and pay a little price on it with the hosting company.

Some people choose web hosting providers strictly based on price. That’s not a great strategy, but you should take pricing into consideration. The best providers offer options for every budget. In some cases, signing up for extended subscriptions will qualify you for extra discounts. Look at the packages and choose for the best and suitable to your website requirement.

Even if you’re a whiz at setting up websites, it is good to know that help is available whenever you need it. Confirm that the web hosting provider has 24/7 support. Make sure that there are several ways to get support too. The most reliable providers provide support through email, phone, and online chat.

In addition to offering the basics like bandwidth and disk space, a good web hosting plan will include at least a few extras. If you’re running an online store, look for providers that offer e-commerce solutions. If you’d like to be able to perform fast and easy updates, look for a provider that offers content management systems. Make sure that you’ll have access to statistics about your site too.

So, if you’re ready to start your website, you can check out godaddy.com website and hostgator.com here.
